In undergrad I took an Anthropology class. The instructor was a big burly Grizzly Addams lookalike who appeared he'd be more at home doing field research than teaching a class.

But he was a good instructor. Turned a "throaway credit" class into one I couldn't miss. One of the things he posited that I'll never forget was "there is no biological basis for Race. It's all cultural..." and of politcial significance.
